The Mercury 150XL (standard rotation) and 150CXL (counter-rotation) are high-performance four-stroke outboard motors designed as a twin set for medium to large boats, such as bass boats, aluminum consoles, runabouts, offshore fishing boats, and pontoons up to 18-22 feet. Featuring 25-inch extra-long shafts, each weighs 465 lbs and is powered by a 3.0L (183 cubic inch) four-cylinder inline SOHC engine with 8 valves, delivering 150 HP at 5,400 RPM (5,000-5,800 RPM range). Equipped with remote mechanical steering, Smart Start electric start, and power trim/tilt, they ensure precise control and easy operation. The motors feature Computer-Controlled Multi-Port Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) for optimal performance and fuel efficiency. Built for durability in freshwater and saltwater, they incorporate a stainless steel driveshaft, corrosion-resistant coatings, and a freshwater flush port. The Active Trim system simplifies operation, and NMEA 2000 compatibility allows integration with onboard electronics.

Mounted on my 26′ cabin cruiser in Seattle. Twin Mercurys deliver excellent torque and smooth rides. Starting has been flawless even in colder mornings. Very pleased with the build quality and customer support.
Running these on my 28′ sportfisher off the coast of Boston. Great engines with plenty of grunt. Fuel economy could be a bit better, but that’s expected with twin 150s. Overall, a solid setup for offshore fishing.
