Using it on a 17′ utility boat near the Columbia River. Performs great in both shallow and moderate current. Only reason for 4 stars is the cowling latch felt a little flimsy, but the motor itself runs strong.
Installed the BF30D3LRT on my 16′ aluminum fishing boat in northern Minnesota. It’s quiet, fuel-efficient, and starts instantly. The 20″ shaft gives perfect clearance in deeper spots. You can tell it’s built with typical Honda reliability.
Got this Honda 30 for my 16′ aluminum skiff in Alabama. The price was really competitive compared to Yamaha and Mercury, and I’m glad I went with Honda — smooth, quiet, and rock-solid reliability.
Using this 30hp on my 17′ jon boat around Lake Texoma. Smooth operation and low vibration, though I did need to tweak the idle setting a bit. Still, performance is great and it runs clean all day.
Running it on a 15′ fiberglass skiff in Charleston. For the price I paid, I wasn’t expecting this level of refinement. Electric start, power tilt — all smooth and responsive. Honda really nailed it with this model.
