The Yamaha F200XC2 (standard rotation) and LF200XC2 (counter-rotation) are high-performance four-stroke outboard motors designed as a twin set for large boats, such as center consoles, offshore fishing boats, and pontoons up to 22-28 feet. Featuring 25-inch extra-long shafts, each weighs 496 lbs and is powered by a 2,785cc (170.0 cubic inch) four-cylinder DOHC engine with 16 valves, delivering 200 HP at 5,500 RPM (5,000-6,000 RPM range). Equipped with remote mechanical steering, electric start, and power trim/tilt, they offer precise control and smooth operation. The motors feature Precision Multi-Point Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) with Variable Camshaft Timing (VCT) for enhanced torque and efficiency, and a Variable Trolling RPM Switch (VTS®) for adjustable trolling speeds (650-900 RPM in 50-RPM increments). Built for durability in freshwater and saltwater, they incorporate Yamaha’s YDC-30 alloy, Phaze Five™ five-layer paint system, stainless steel components, and multiple sacrificial anodes for corrosion resistance. Great setup overall. The coordination between both motors is excellent. I deducted one star only because installation and sync took extra time, but performance afterward is fantastic.
Reliable and powerful motors, though the combined weight is tough to manage alone. Once up and running, they perform like a dream. A noticeable upgrade from my old setup.
These twin Yamahas deliver serious power. Smooth throttle response, and the 25″ shafts work perfectly together. Very stable, and I’m impressed with how little vibration there is at cruise.
Absolutely love this twin 200hp setup. Acceleration is sharp and handling is confident. For what you pay, the build and performance are outstanding. Worth every dollar.
