Equipped with remote mechanical steering, Smart Start electric start, and power trim/tilt, it ensures precise control and easy operation. Installed this on my 18′ aluminum fishing boat last spring and it’s been flawless. The acceleration is smooth, and fuel efficiency is better than I expected for a 90hp. Took it out around Lake Havasu and it performed like a champ, even in choppy water.
We’ve got it on our fiberglass skiff and it’s an amazing fit. Took it out off the coast of North Carolina and it ran smooth all day long. Quiet, clean, and powerful — Mercury nailed the balance on this one. Would definitely recommend to others.
This thing is a beast on my 20′ flat bottom jon boat. Running trips up and down the Mississippi out of Baton Rouge, and it handles strong currents with no problem. Starts first time, every time. Maintenance has been minimal so far — no regrets at all.
Using it on a 19′ bay boat here in Sarasota, FL. Power delivery is solid, and I love how easy it is to start cold. Only small gripe is that I had to tweak the trim a bit more than expected, but that’s minor. It’s a reliable motor for serious inshore work.
Running this motor on my center console in Galveston and it’s been great overall. Starts quick, runs quiet, and pushes the boat easily even with a full load. Only reason it’s not 5 stars is because I wish the cowling was a bit easier to remove for maintenance.
